Flooding threatens Findlay

Concerns over flooding water levels in Findlay are growing, as more rain drenched the area Wednesday afternoon.

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - Concerns over flooding water levels in Findlay are growing, as more rain drenched the area Wednesday afternoon.

The Blanchard River crested at 11 feet early Wednesday morning.

Many residents get concerned because of the damage caused by flooding in recent years, but Findlay Mayor Lydia Mihalik says they're always prepared for the worst.

"We're always mindful of when flooding does occur," Mihalik said. "But we're always prepared and ready to go, if, in fact, it does happen."

In the past nine days, Findlay has seen 4.5 inches of rain. They received another 1.5 inches of rain Wednesday afternoon. The city has seen rain every day for the month of July.
