Stautzenberger College hosts free job fair

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Although jobs were added in June, the unemployment rate held steady at 7.6 percent for the nation, making job fairs very popular among the unemployed. Those looking to add their name to the payroll attended a free job fair Tuesday at Stautzenberger College in Maumee.

Tuesday afternoon's community wide job fair was open to anyone seeking employment. There were more than 40 employers and recruiters on hand to take resumes and conduct interviews.

With so many employers present, jobseekers had great networking opportunities available.

"Keeping people employed is very important. It helps the economy and the city of Toledo," said Eric Kurfess, admission representative for Stautzenberger College.

Stautzenberger College officials said the job fair was not only to help people find jobs, but give back to the community.
