Arrest made in east Toledo sub shop robbery

Police say an employee and a witness say a man came into the restaurant, letting other customers go ahead of him and acting strange.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo Police have made an arrest in a robbery of the east Toledo Subway restaurant on Main St., thanks to the public's help.

Police say an employee and a witness say a man came into the restaurant, letting other customers go ahead of him and acting strange.

They say the man went into the bathroom and came out holding a freezer bag.

He put his other hand in his pocket as if he had a gun.

He told the employee to fill the bag, and left with about 115 dollars.

Witnesses say the man headed south on Main St.

Police say a tip led them to 36 year-old Jason Gayer of Toledo.

He was arrested this afternoon at an apartment in the 12-hundred block of Starr Ave.

The money has not been recovered.

Gayer faces a charge of robbery.
