(WMC-TV) - Concerns about downtown security rise after a 13-year-old was shot near Tom Lee Park during a Fourth of July celebration. Exclusive video obtained by Action News 5 shows that two weapons were in the crowd and police made other arrests amid the chaos Thursday.

Police arrested Tashun Jenkins, 18, for allegedly shooting the teen in the area of Beale and Front streets.

The event nearly turned away some tourists for the weekend.

"But we still felt we'd come down here during the day, enjoy ourselves, have a good time ... [I'd think twice] about [visiting at night]," said Matt Vaughan with his family from Missouri.

Reports say a big brawl broke out before the shooting. Witness said the teens gathered near a Beale Street Landing building moments before a 13-year-old was shot in the leg.

Video captured by Daryle Jamssens shows a number of teenagers under arrest outside of the landing, and a gun on the ground next to one of them. In the video, an officer unloads the gun before handing it to one of several other officers on the scene.

Jamssens' initial concern was about the way police treated the teens.

"And, you know, the thing about it is – I think about my son, and if something like that were to happen to him," said Jamssens.

Police said the young men randomly threw fireworks into the crowd, and a .357-caliber handgun fell out of one of the teen's left pockets during a pat-down.

The shooting of the 13-year-old victim happened a short time later, but both disturbances may have been connected.

"I thought it was tragic to have something like that happen around the holiday," said visitor Courtney Winbush.

But despite some concern, it appears most people remain secure about their safety downtown.

Action News 5 is still awaiting information about exact charges related to the young men in the cell phone video.

Police say the one with the gun admitted it was his, and that he needed it for protection.

After double overtime, the Toledo Walleye came out on top and beat the Indy 3-2 Thursday night for a sweep in the series. Even though the fish had a 3-0 lead in the first round playoff series, the toughest thing to do in hockey is to beat a desperate team on their home ice.  Halfway through a second overtime Kyle Bonis sets up Christian Hillbrich to score the game winning goal.  The Walleye now advances to the second round.
