Maumee Police looking for driver who hit bicyclist, fled scene

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Maumee Police are asking for the public's help tracking down a driver they say hit a man on a bicycle and left the scene on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say 57-year-old Thomas P. Sullivan of Maumee was riding his bike westbound in the crosswalk when a driver turning from eastbound Dudley Street onto northbound Conant Street hit him and continued north on Conant.

Police say the vehicle was a black sports car, possibly a 1997 or newer Chevrolet Corvette. The driver is described as a white male with brown hair and a beard. The accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maumee Police Detective Sergeant Steven P. Crowe at 419-897-7030.
