ETX man rams police cruiser then flees; later arrested

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Authorities have apprehended a man who rammed a police cruiser with his vehicle, then fled the scene to a nearby pasture.

The Van Zandt County sheriff's Office tell us that Jousha Field was arrested Saturday evening after he sped away from a traffic stop.

Authorities tell us Field was being pulled over, when he backed his vehicle into a police cruiser, then fled the scene.

Van Police, Canton Police, DPS, Van Zandt County Constables and Van Zandt County Sheriff's Deputies all responded and were able to surround the suspect in a pasture off of County Road 1502. Field was then taken into custody.

He is being held in the Van Zandt County jail and is being charged with aggravated assault of a police officer, evading arrest with a vehicle, theft of less than $20-thousand dollars and parole violation.
