(RNN) - President Barack Obama attended the G-8 Summit in Northern Ireland, meeting with other world leaders to discuss global issues.

The president also visited Berlin, where he spoke about wanting to reduce the number of nuclear weapons in both the U.S. and Russia.

Award-winning actor James Gandolfini died. Gandolfini, famous for his role as Tony Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos, was in Italy when he died of an apparent heart attack.

FBI officials said they did not find the remains of Jimmy Hoffa following a search in suburban Detroit. They received a credible tip that the ex-Teamster boss was buried in the area, but the search came up empty. The investigation, now in its 38th year, remains ongoing.
