SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

FirstEnergy crews got creative trying to supply power to a rural wildlife area. Theydid it using helicopters.

Transmissionlines were delivered to installation crews in Riley, OH via helicopters toprevent any damage to surrounding wetlands.

It'spart of a $700 million transmission building program that will run from the Davis-Bessenuclear power plant to a new substation in Sandusky County, 30 miles away.

"We'reusing helicopters to string these wires because these towers stand inprotective wetland area," said Spokesman Chris Eck. "If we can get in there anddo our work from the air without driving a truck into the wetlands, it's muchbetter for the environment."
