Despite setbacks, work will continue this week on streetcar - News, Weather, Sports, Toledo, OH

Work continues this week on Cincinnati streetcar

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Despite Cincinnati's streetcar project needing more than $17 million to be completed, work will continue this week.

The city says a Duke Energy underground electric contractor should start work on Walnut Street in the central business district.

Workers recently repaired sidewalks, installed curb ramps and rebuilt manholes at 12th and Race Streets.

The two council members who have voiced support of voting to move the project forward are Yvette Simpson and Laure Quinlivan.

Chris Smitherman and Charlie Winburn stand firmly against putting more money into it.

Everyone else FOX19 talked to did not voice their opinions.
