Three injured after Groton Township Crash

GROTON TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two cars got into a serious injury crash in Groton Township between Sandusky and Bellevue just before noon on Sunday.

The accident happened on State Route 99 at Strecker Road.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 61-year-old Janet Wahl of Castalia failed to yield at a stop sign, and was hit by a car driven by 17-year-old Hayden Coey of Greenwich.

Wahl was taken to Mercy Saint Vincent hospital by LifeFlight with serious injuries.

Coey and his passenger were taken to another hospital with what police are calling incapacitating injuries.

All three were wearing seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
