(RNN) -The first named storm of the 2013 hurricane season has come and gone, leaving flooding, but no widespread damage across the East Coast.

Having lost its tropical characteristics, what was once Tropical Storm Andrea is moving away from New England.

The storm, now known officially as Post-tropical Cyclone Andrea, still packed maximum sustained winds of 45 mph as of 11 a.m. EDT. It was located 75 miles East of Portland, ME and moving Northeast at 39 mph.

The system is forecast to make an east-northeast turn Saturday and Sunday, moving it across the border into Canada. It is then expected to be absorbed by another low-pressure system off of Newfoundland, Canada on Sunday.

The National Weather Service originally forecast 3 to 5 inches of rain in areas from New Jersey to New England Saturday. That rainfall is expected to come to an end early Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of the center of the storm, flooding from the system had already hit Falls River, MA, Cranston, RI, and Long Island, NY, Friday.

Andrea dumped a lot of rain on the Atlantic coast Friday, causing flooding in the Carolinas.

It made landfall Thursday in the Big Bend area of Florida. There were reports of possibly isolated tornado-related damage in Florida.

The Associated Press reported that the storm was blamed for one traffic-related death in Virginia.

Turning out to be nothing but a soaker, Andrea was a quiet start to the 2013 hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30.
