Two people in critical condition after US-23 crash

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Two people are in critical condition at Toledo hospital after a crash on US-23 near Summerfield Rd. in Michigan.

The accident happened at 2:49pm Friday afternoon.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Timothy N. Kreps, age 66, of Toledo, OH was driving a mini-van in the southbound lanes of US-23 when he was rear-ended by a car being driven by Seth M. Winter, age 23, also from Toledo.

Mr. Winter was taken by air ambulance to Toledo Hospital.

A passenger in the mini-van, David W. Dickson, age 65, of Youngsville, PA was also transported to Toledo Hospital and is also listed in critical condition.

Mr. Kreps was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Mr. Winter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police say alcohol does not seem to have played a role in the crash.

All but one of the southbound lanes of US-23 were closed to clean up the accident scene.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 734-240-7551.

The crash remains under investigation.
