Suspect to stand trial for 30-year-old murder case

A suspect in a decades-old murder case is now behind bars in Lucas County after being booked around 9 p.m. Thursday night.

LUCAS COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) - A suspect in a decades-old murder case is now behind bars in Lucas County after being booked around 9 p.m. Thursday night.

Authorities believe Andrew Gustafson is responsible for the death of 19-year-old Janean Brown. Brown's body was found in a Lucas County ditch almost three decades ago, on November 19, 1983.

The cold case was reopened in 2011. Gustafson was arrested in Michigan, and extradited to Lucas County, where he will stand trial for the death of Brown. He faces several charges, including two counts of aggravated murder.
