(WMC-TV) - Memphis' outdoor pools will open for the summer on Saturday, June 8 and taking a dip is now easier than ever.
For those of you who want to take advantage of the city pools, City Access Cards can be picked up for free at any city library. The access cards will be used instead of pool cards, and they can also be used to check out library books.
If you have a previously issued pool identification card, you do not need to register again for a City Access Card. But you must register if you:
Desire to attend a City of Memphis Aquatic Facility
Misplaced your previously issued pool card
Turned 13 since your previous pool card was issued
Turned 18 since your previous pool card was issued
Have a general, non-photo ID library card but desire to attend a City of Memphis Aquatic Facility
- In order to register, all people under the age of 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A valid form of identification with minor's birth date listed is required. Proof of residency is also required.
- Adults 18 years old and older will need to have a valid driver's license or other photo identification, as well as proof of residency to receive a City Access Card.
- Proof of residency requires two original, current documents issued within the last 90 days with the applicant's name and current City of Memphis address (i.e. utility bill, land line telephone bill, bank statement, rental agreement, etc...)
