If you are a parent of a teenager, take a moment and go to BrianMatters.com.

(Toledo News Now) - If you are a parent of a teenager, take a moment and go to BrianMatters.com.

This is a website created by the parents of Brian Hoeflinger. Brian was a senior at Ottawa Hills High School and he died in a tragic car accident this year. Alcohol was involved.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoeflinger are urging you to talk to your child about the danger of drinking and driving. Brian Matters includes Brian's Pledge.

The pledge says, "I pledge not to drink alcohol or use other drugs. I commit myself to celebrating in a safe and healthy way. I pledge not to get in a car with someone who has been drinking alcohol or is under the influence of drugs. If I find myself in a situation in which I feel unsafe or uncomfortable, I promise to call a parent or trusted friend for a ride home. I commit to this pledge and recognize there are consequences for every decision I make."

Mom, Dad, spend some time with your child and talk about the pledge while you still can. Please.
