Leading Edge with Jerry Anderson – May 26, 2013

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The tragic story of a deadly tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma this week had many in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan remembering another deadly storm. It's been three years since storms hit our area, destroying homes, a high school and a police station and taking six lives. This week on Leading Edge, Jerry sits down with Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer and Lake Local Schools Superintendent Jim Witt to discuss what it takes to recover from such a devastating natural disaster.

Later in the show Jerry speaks with Paul Fletcher of the State Hospital Cemetery Reclamation Project. Fletcher is working to get grave stones installed at more than 2,000 grave sites currently identified by only a number. The graves are those of patients at the former state hospital on Arlington Avenue in Toledo.

Finally, he's one of many candidates running for mayor. Union leader Alan Cox is running as an independent, and says he wants to put the city manager form of government back on the ballot in Toledo. Find out why he wants to be mayor, and why he says the mayor should have less power.

Don't miss Leading Edge with Jerry Anderson, each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on WTOL 11 and 10:30 p.m. on FOX Toledo.
