Indians lose to Reds, again

The Cleveland Indians losing streak continues after falling to the Cincinnati Reds for the second night in a row Tuesday 8-2. Zach McAllister was the starting pitcher for the Tribe and had a rough start to the night. Cincinnati attacked the scoreboards right off the bat with an RBI single coming from Joey Votto and a 2-run single off the bat of Xavier Paul. The Reds took an early 3-0 lead.

Michael Bourn was able to make it a game for the Tribe in the 5th inning after driving in an RBI single off of Mat Latos that brought Drew Stubbs home to make the score 3-1.

The remainder of the game was all Reds

In the bottom of the 7th inning, Devin Mesoraco singled to Carlos Santana who overthrew first base leading to a Reds score. Jack Hannahan followed with an RBI single that put the Reds up 5-1. The Cincinnati run parade continued with an RBI single from Derrick Robinson and another RBI single from Zack Cozart that put the Reds up 7-1 before the end of the 7th inning.

Michael Brantley was able to put another Indians score on the board in the top of the 8th inning with an RBI single to bring Nick Swisher home, but even the momentum from that score was quickly stopped after Jay Bruce hit an RBI double on a line drive to center field that put the Reds up 8-2 and solidified the Cincinnati win.

The Indians finished the game with a mere seven hits compared to Cincinnati's 18. Quite possibly the most exciting point of the game for the Indians came in the bottom of the 5th inning when McAllister hit the Red's Brandon Phillip's with a pitch. Prior to the game, it was widely discussed if any retaliation would ensue from pitches thrown towards the Indian's Swisher during Monday's game.

The Indians have now lost seven of their last eight games.
