TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo Fire Department crews are on the scene of a vacant house fire in east Toledo.

Flames broke out just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 400 block of Oak Street. Smoke could be seen billowing out of the windows of the home around 4:10 p.m.

It is unclear what sparked the blaze, but firefighters do say it is suspicious.

Firefighters say they are taking a defensive approach, which means they are trying to protect themselves by backing off, instead of forcing their way inside.

It appears no one is hurt and crews are dealing well with the heat.

No other homes are in danger.

Firefighters battled another vacant house fire just a few blocks away on Euclid Avenue Tuesday morning.
