WATERVILLE TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police are looking for three suspected killers wanted in connection with a home invasion and homicide that happened over the weekend in Waterville Township.

An autopsy was performed on James Safadi's body Monday, and his death was ruled a homicide. He was shot once in both legs, and once in the chest.

Safadi's girlfriend called township police around 6 a.m. Saturday, saying he had been shot at their home on the 8900 block of South River Road. She told police three males broke into their home. She locked herself in the bathroom, where she dialed 911.

The Lucas County Coroner's office says it was the shot in the chest that killed Safadi, but he lived until he reached St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee.

Safadi's family owned several carryouts in Toledo. They sent the following statement:

"The Safadi family is devastated by the tragic death of James Safadi. Jimmy was outgoing, generous and compassionate. He cared deeply about his family, friends and community."

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office says the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
