'Stars Stripes and Smiles:' free dentistry for veterans

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Doctor J. Eric Hires, along with the rest of the team Hires Dental Care, want to show their appreciation for Toledo Area Veterans' service to the country by honoring them with free basic dental care.

Dr. Hires, will be joined by Doctor Czerniak and Doctor Phipps, along with other volunteers, including Optometrist Dr. Tracey Needham & nurses from ProMedica, to help over 110 veterans.
Each patient will be treated with one of the following: filling, extraction or cleaning.
Dr. Hires has helped many patients through non-profit activities.  This will be the fourth Free Dental Care for Veterans event; Stars Stripes and Smiles.  In the last three year the practice was able to help 238 US Veterans with over $58,000 in free dental care treatment.  They were also offered free blood pressure & eye screenings.

"Now more than ever, I know there are people out there that need dental services - whether they are out of a job, or just don't have dental insurance.  Stars Stripes and Smiles is our way of giving back to the community, and helping our Veterans who have given so much to us," said Dr. Hires.  Thanks to the generous donations from Hylant Group, SMB Construction, Waterford, Chick-fil-A, Sylvania Vet, Henry Schein, Vitos Pizza, H.O.T. Printing, Kroger and others who have made this event possible!

The event will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Hires Dental Care, 3951 W Sylvania Avenue in Toledo. Starting at 8am, Dr. Rick Hires, Dr. Lauren Czerniak and Dr. Ryan Phipps, with their team of volunteers, hope to treat over 110 patients, by 5pm.  For more information, please call their office at 419-475-6673, or visit their web site or the event's web site.
