Millionth Jeep Wrangler produced Friday at Chrysler

(Toledo News Now) -

A milestone will be reached Friday morning at Chrysler's Toledo Assembly Complex: The one millionth Jeep Wrangler will roll off the assembly line.

Chrysler dealerships like Charlie's Dodge in Maumee are not surprised. The sales team there credits a great workforce at a great plant making a great product.
"It's just always been a popular vehicle," said Michael Barchick, general manager at Charlie's Dodge. "It's rugged. Lots of versatility to it. One of those vehicles people have fallen in love with."

And that's even with the introduction of other SUVs from other automakers over the years.

Barchick says the Wrangler is hard to keep on the lot and more often than not, difficult to stock. Each dealership across the country is allocated so many Wranglers, but demand often outpaces production.

At Charlie's, they say they're lucky to get 15-20 Wranglers a month.

"It's just that iconic brand," Barchick said. "People would rather drive a Jeep. It's got that look, style. Get in, drive it, fall in love with it."
