OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Vail Meadows Riding Center of Ohio is hosting a benefit 5k run/walk to raise money to rebuild its barn.

Vail Meadows is a non-profit organization that uses therapy horses to work with mentally and physically handicapped children and adults.

A fire in march destroyed its original barn and took the lives of ten horses.

On May 25, 2013, the "Run For The Meadows 5k" will take place at the Millbury Fire Hall, 28410 Oak Street. Millbury, OH.

Race registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the run/walk officially start at 10:00 a.m.

Awards will be given in several categories including: Best Overall Performance (Male and Female), Overall Masters 40+ (Male and Female), and top three winners of all age categories (male and female).

Participants are invited to walk or run.

Registration forms can be found on the Vail Meadows website. The registration fee is $20 with an event shirt, or $15 without.

Participants are asked to bring gently used clothing to the race, if possible, for the Easter Seals Donation Truck.
