TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Two men involved in the death of Joe Lengel, a south Toledo gym owner, were sentenced Tuesday.

Jason Kuhns stood before the judge and apologized, saying he regrets not doing something to stop the murder from happening. He was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

Devonte Harris was sentenced to life in prison, eligible for parole after 25 years.

Lengel's wife said this day was especially difficult because it would have been her one year wedding anniversary. She asked the judge to hand down the maximum sentence.

"I realize this does not make up for the untimely death of Joe, but will give some peace that these men are unable to hurt other innocent persons and their families and loved ones," said Diana Lengel.

Harris pleaded guilty and Kuhns pleaded no contest to the November murder of Lengel, owner of Crossfit Gym.

Harris explained in court April 25, he and another suspect, Deitrekk Boone, shot and robbed Lengel, although he was not the intended target.

Kuhns last appeared in court April 22, pleading no contest to a single count of murder.

Two other men have already taken plea deals in the case. Matthew Managhan and Chad Brown will both spend 15 years behind bars after admitting their involvement and pleading guilty to aggravated robbery and involuntary manslaughter.

Police still have not found the alleged gunman, Deitrekk Boone, who remains on the loose. Anyone who knows of Boone's whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
