Monroe Co. school district to conduct active shooter training Friday

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has announced an active shooter drill is planned at Airport Community Schools Friday around 8 a.m.

CARLETON, MI (Toledo News Now) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has announced an active shooter drill is planned at Airport Community Schools Friday around 8 a.m.

The practice will take place on the main campus of Airport High School, located at 11270 Grafton Road in Carleton, MI. The drill will take place during regular school hours with students and faculty participating.

Local law enforcement will be assisting superintendent John Krimmel to test emergency plans, as

well as law enforcement and emergency service responses. There will be a large number of

police, fire, and emergency service vehicles responding and participating in the drill.

Students, parents, staff, and local residents have been informed of the event.
