Farmers market returns to Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

It's back with the warm weather: The Perrysburg Farmers Market has been a Thursday night tradition since 1998.

Throughout the season, you'll find 50-60 vendors lining the streets of downtown Perrysburg. Not many produce vendors are there yet, but they'll arrive as the fruits and vegetables come out of area fields.

For now, there are plenty of plants, crafts, soap and baked items from places like Country Grains Bread in Sylvania.

"Yes, we love it," said Stacy Peacock of Country Grains. "It's a great place. Nice atmosphere. People are really great."

There is one rule for vendors: They must make or grow at least 65 percent of items they sell at the market. Anything else must be clearly marked.

"We have such a great venue," said Sandy Latcham. "People love being down here...If you look around, there's nobody with a frown on their face."

The market is open every Thursday from 3-8 p.m. until October 10.
