Perrysburg transit levy passes

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

With nearly 72 percent of the vote, the Perrysburg transit levy passed on Tuesday.

In April, Perrysburg City Council chose to go with a dial-in-ride service called "Ride Right," for its public transportation services if the levy passed. The same service was used for a couple of months in 2012 after TARTA services ended.

The five-year, 0.8 mill levy would collect about $450,000 per year. On average, homeowners with a $200,000 house can expect to pay about $50 per year.

Ride Right will run weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The service is expected to cost $1 per ride.
