Meet Henry County’s new K-9 officer

HENRY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Henry County Sheriff's Office has a brandnew resource to sniff out and track down crime.

It's the first week on the job for Deputy MarkGlanz's new K-9 partner Andy. So far, it's been a busy one.

"In the last three nights on the job, we've donetwo building searches," Glanz said.

The 13-month-old pup is ready to track downmissing people, evidence, and protect his handler. He's a resource Henry Countynever had before Sheriff Michael Bodenbender took office.

"We always had to borrow from another county oranother jurisdiction," the sheriff said. "And it's one thing that you alwayshave to wait, and now we don't have to wait anymore. The dog's here and readyto go."

The sheriff says Andy and his training were paidfor by private donors. The K-9 will live with Deputy Glanz when he's not onduty.

"It's a nice feeling to have a partner therewith you that you know has your back through thick and thin," Glanz said.
