Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman and members and supporters of the transgender community gathered on the steps of Cleveland City Hall Wednesday to address the recent murder of Carl Acoff, Jr., 20.

Acoff's body was discovered floating in a pond in Olmsted Township on April 17.

Acoff's family reported Acoff missing on March 27. Cleveland police called Olmsted Township police on April 19. Police then got a DNA sample from family members.

Police say the victim died of multiple stab wounds. Police confirm Acoff was a member of the transgender/transvestite community.

When discovered, Acoff, Jr. was wearing a red Betty Boop tank top, three black bras and a light black hooded jacket. The transgender was also nude from the waist down.

It was determined the victim had a rope tied around the waist and knotted from behind. The rope was attached to a piece of concrete and steel pipe.

So far no one has been arrested.
