Students rock against human trafficking at "Traffick Jam"

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Local students rocked out to raise awareness of the human trafficking problem in the Northwest Ohio area.

University of Toledo students joined local musicians, businesses and other organizations at the Blarney for the Traffick Jam on Sunday.

"The problem with human trafficking is it's something that happens right underneath our noses and, sometime, we don't even know about it. So the sort of slogan for our event has been giving a voice to the voiceless," said Gus Skorburg, an instructor at UT.

Toledo's human trafficking problem is among the worst in the nation.

The city is the fourth largest recruitment site in the country according to a 2012 report by the Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force.
