TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Democratic candidate for mayor, Anita Lopez, spoke in front of One Government Center this morning.
She said failed leadership from Mayor Mike Bell and from City Councilman Joe McNamara, another mayoral hopeful, has led to the water infrastructure crisis.
She's calling for a full audit of the Department of Public Utilities and promises to do her own assessment if she wins.
"We're going to put online where every dollar, every penny is spent. Because we have to build and restore the trust of citizens and businesses in the city of Toledo," said Ms. Lopez.
Lopez also says city council should not approve raises for the mayor or themselves, until an audit is completed.
Lopez is the current County Auditor.
