SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) - Following the footsteps of cities around them, Sylvania is now selling items online that will bring them a little extra money.
Instead of scrapping items, or just getting rid of them, the city is putting them up for bids.
An online website GovDeals is featuring items from the Sylvania Police Department and the Parks and Forestry Department.
Items include wooden landscape benches, a snow plow, and a dump truck. All money raised will go into the city's general fund account.
A few residents believe this new idea is a great one.
"I can't see anything that would be wrong about it, it's a wonderful idea," said Linda Stern. "And putting it online disperses the information out of this area, even."
