The Cavaliers are wasting no time in their search for a new head coach. On Sunday night team owner Dan Gilbert had dinner with the team's former head coach Mike Brown. Brown was fired early in the season by the Lakers and is looking for his next job. It's believed that the Cavs are concerned about another team swooping in to get Brown, so they want to act quickly and explore him as an option.
ESPN reported late Sunday night that the team has also reached out to another former Laker head coach, Phil Jackson. Gilbert talked with Jackson in 2005 when the Cavs were looking for a bench boss. Jackson did not take the job then, he's considered a long shot for the team this time. Brooklyn and Sacramento have also been connected to Jackson, Sacramento more so if the team relocates to Seattle.
The Cavs fired Byron Scott on Thursday.
