Rockethon raises money for children's hospital

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Students at the University of Toledo danced for a good cause on Saturday.

They took part in the annual Rockethon.

The dance marathon began at 10am Saturday morning and wraps up at 11pm.

The fundraising event benefits the Children's Miracle Network hospitals at Mercy Children's Hospital.

Students reflected on the children they help as they danced.

"It's very inspirational to hear all the families' stories and how the organization has helped them, all the diseases over their life," said Molly Steller, one of the dancers.

750 dancers took part in the event.

Rockethon wraps up a year-long fundraising effort for the Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

This year's Rockethon raised 100-thousand dollars.
