Michael Bourn had to leave Sunday's game against the White Sox with a laceration on his right index finger. The injury occurred in the 8th inning when he went sliding into first on an infield single. Chicago pitcher Matt Thornton was running over to tag the bag and stepped on Bourn's hand.
After getting five stitches, Bourn said team doctors told him he was day to day. He did not think he would be able to play Tuesday against Boston.
In other Tribe injury news, both 2B Jason Kipnis (elbow) and C Carlos Santana (thumb) missed Sunday's game. Both hope to be ready to go for Tuesday.
