ROSSFORD, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Rossford Police say a pharmacy was robbed after officers were called to a gas station with a fake report of a robbery.

Police say they received a call of a robbery at the Shell gas station on Buck Road at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived at the station, no suspects were present and the attendant told them no one had robbed the store.

While officers were still at the gas station, dispatchers received a report of a robbery at the Rite Aid on Dixie Highway. Witnesses told police the suspect demanded pills and threatened to kill employees before exiting through the back door.

The suspect was described as a white male with dark hair and a beard, wearing a leather coat, ball cap, gloves with velcro and mirrored sun glasses.

Rossford Police say the second report, of the robbery at the Rite Aid, was legitimate. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Rossford Police at 419-666-5230.
