There were countless Michigan fans in the area glued to their TVs. One of them, however, is not just a fan – he's a future Wolverine.

The Anthony Wayne Generals will lose Mark Donnal when he graduates in June, but their loss is Michigan's gain. He didn't miss his new team's run at a title Monday night.

Donnal is a 6-foot-9 power forward, who had verbally committed to Michigan and then came aboard when Coach John Beilein offered him a scholarship.

He's even more excited after the Wolverines' amazing run to Atlanta. He was there for the Final Four win Saturday over Syracuse.

"It has been fun watching them go this far in the tournament," Donnal said. "When I was being recruited by Coach Beilein, he said, 'If you come here, you will be playing for national championships,' and this year, they are doing exactly that."

Donnal's coach at Anthony Wayne, Bryan Borcherdt, was at the Donnal home for the game, as well. He said he thinks his star player will be ready for the pressure that will come in Ann Arbor.

"Mark has got to be Mark," Borcherdt said. "He has a very good set of skills that they know about and that they are going to develop and use to their ability, and he can't worry about any of those things."
