LENAWEE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

TheLenawee County Road Commission is starting some new projects after a mildwinter left them with extra money in their budget.

Commissionmembers say there are a lot of dead and dying trees located near major roads, and those trees could fall onto a car or into the road, blocking traffic. Theirnew project will take preventative measures against such hazards.

"We'retaking them down over time," said Managing Director Scott Merillat. "It's niceto have the time to take care of those things."

Thecommission has about 13 percent more leftover in their budget than they wereexpecting, so the extra money will fund the tree removal.
