National Guard Civil Support Team conducting training exercise

COLUMBUS, OH (Press release) -

The Ohio National Guard's 52nd Civil Support Team (CST) is conducting a training exercise from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Put-in-Bay Airport and Miller Ferry Dock, Port Clinton, Ohio.

The objective of this exercise is to work with local first responders at a chemical hazard incident and to mobilize the CST's assets to Put-in-Bay, while maintaining the Common Operating Picture for sustained operations on the mainland.

No real chemicals or other hazards will be used during this exercise.

Exercise participants will be the 52nd Civil Support Team, Erie-Ottawa Regional Airport, Put-in-Bay Airport, Put-in-Bay Township Volunteer Fire Department and Miller Ferry.

The mission of the CST is to support civil authorities at domestic Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosive (CBRNE) or natural disaster incident sites by assessing current and projected consequences, identifying CBRNE agents/substances, advising on response measures and assisting with appropriate requests for state and federal support.
