(Toledo News Now) -

Nineteen years ago, the Susan G. Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure seemed like a good idea in support of a great cause, so WTOL 11 and Chrys Peterson got involved.

Thanks to so many of you, as we approach year 20, $11,000,000 has been raised right here in the ongoing battle against breast cancer. This is a remarkable legacy and an incredible testament to the loving generosity and compassion of our viewers.

Please consider joining us as we honor the 20th anniversary of the Race for The Cure with the Pink Ribbon Gala on Saturday, April 13. This promises to be a wonderful evening of dinner and dancing, as we celebrate the joy of truly making a difference.

To make your reservation, go to the Toledo News Now home page and click on the link to the Pink Ribbon Gala. Or go to the Komen Northwest Ohio website.

The Pink Ribbon Gala - hmm, that sounds like another good idea in support of a great cause. Please come.

The recent decision of ProMedica's Board of Trustees to enter into a transfer agreement with Capital Care Network, Toledo's last remaining abortion facility, just doesn't make sense.
