City Council approves $340K to extend Executive Parkway

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Construction is expected to start soon for the redevelopment of the former Showcase Cinemas property along Secor Road in west Toledo.

On Tuesday, Toledo City Council approved a $340,000 capital improvement spending measure to extend Executive Parkway a short distance going east of Secor, to help with the redevelopment of the property.

Steve Roumaya, CEO of Key Hotel and Property Management, says two hotels are targeted for that site: Hampton Inn and Suites and Holiday Inn Express.

"It will help as far as traffic flow, definitely would clear out traffic a little bit. We'll have Executive Parkway going all the way back to the development. We're going to start the hotel (the Hampton Inn and Suites) as early as another week or so,"  said Roumaya.

Roumaya says other development will occur on the site, including retail and restaurants. A groundbreaking event will also be held in the near future.
