TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Catholic nuns have been caring for the less fortunate in  northwest Ohio for a long time.

The Sisters of Notre Dame, St. Francis of Sylvania, St. Francis of Tiffin, Ursuline and the Little Sisters of the Poor have dedicated their lives to educating children, working with the poor, the ill, the elderly and the marginalized.

They do a lot of good work - and now, we have an opportunity to thank them.

On April 21, a fundraiser to benefit the sisters will be held at the Valentine Theater.

The event features the Toledo Symphony Chamber String Orchestra playing Vivaldi's "Four Seasons."

It's a way for all of us to acknowledge the good work these women do every day, and it's a chance to enjoy a great piece of music on a spring day.

You can purchase tickets for Simply Strings by contacting the Valentine Theater box office at 419-242-2787.

If you choose to attend, thank you.

And thank you, sisters, for your good work.
