NORWALK, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Four people were arrested in Huron County Friday night on drug-related charges.

According to investigators, several calls came in about an illegal methamphetamine lab being run out of an apartment on Bouscay Avenue, in Norwalk, Ohio.

The Norwalk Police Department requested a search warrant to look around the home on Friday.

When officers and detectives arrived around 4:55 p.m., officers say they heard people running around inside and peeking through an upstairs window.

Officers say they entered the residence and saw Paul Prince, of Mansfield, Ohio, running upstairs and into the bathroom.

Shortly after, a small fire sparked inside an upstairs bedroom, where an active meth lab was found.

Officers removed four adults and a 3-year-old child from the apartment, as the Norwalk Fire Department arrived to extinguish the fire.

Agents with the BCI&I examined the scene.

Officials say the fire was started by various chemicals used to manufacture meth.

Paul Prince admitted to knocking over a container with chemical bi-products, which started the blaze.

Four people were arrested and booked in the Huron County Jail:

  • Paul Prince – Illegal manufacturing of meth (felony)
  • Allen Mobberly – Permitting drug abuse (felony), child endangerment (felony)
  • James J. Arthur II – Illegal manufacturing of meth (felony)
  • Samantha Reed – Trafficking heroin (felony)

The investigation is ongoing and police say additional charges will follow.
