Jeep Unveils New Toledo-built Cherokee @ NYAS

(Toledo News Now) -

Jeep pulled out all the stops unveiling the new 2014 Cherokee in New York Wednesday. The best part for Toledo - it's a source of local pride. The Cherokee was built right here in the Glass City, and brought 1,100 jobs to the area.

Auto show attendees and journalists were treated to a rollout that included a dramatic video preview, then two versions of the new (Trail Hawk and Limited) Cherokee being driven over fake rocks on stage.

The new Jeep will be the first mid-size SUV to offer, as standard, a 9-speed automatic transmission. It will have a 3.2 liter V6 engine, or a 16-valve, 2.4 liter Tiger Shark engine, which could get 31 miles per gallon.

Among many new features, the new Cherokee has tech-gadgets that would wow any car fanatic.

Valentine's Day, a day to celebrate love, turned into a day of heartbreak. A shooter stormed into a Florida high school, opened fire, and killed 17 people. Many of the victims were sweet children, children who I see my innocent baby girl growing into.
