Second stranger danger incident reported in Fremont

FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Fremont Police Chief Tim Wiersma says his department is investigating another stranger danger case in the city.  Police say at 11:42 a.m. Sunday a 12 year-old girl reported a man asked her if she wanted a ride.   Police say girl was walking home from church on the extreme east side of Fremont when a man driving a white 4 door vehicle with a rear spoiler repeatedly asked her if she wanted a ride.  The girl ran to her home nearby without incident.

Fremont Police continue to investigate several incidents from last week where school age children were asked if they wanted rides.  In that case a Hispanic man with a goatee who was driving a black or dark blue Ford Pickup is sought.  No children were harmed in that incident.

Chief Wiersma says a tip from the public led to an interview with a man but that man is not considered a suspect.  Wiersma says there is no school this week in Fremont because of Easter break but his department will resume school patrols when classes return next Monday.
