Toledo man charged in 2 murders appears in court

A Toledo man accused of committing two murders appeared in court Monday morning.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A Toledo man accused of fatally shooting two people appeared in court Monday morning to begin his trial.

Traquawn Gibson is facing murder and felony assault charges for allegedly shooting Deonta Allen to death on Fernwood Avenue in October 2012.

In addition, he is charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Crejonnia "CJ" Bell. Police say in November 2012, Gibson shot Bell four times in the head and chest outside of her home on Weber Street. Bell was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.

Gibson also faces charges for gang activity.

In court, Gibson's trial was rescheduled for June 10.
