TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Lucas County grand jury has indicted a man on three felony counts of burglary after being accused of breaking into homes in Lucas, Wood and Ottawa counties.

Walter Polus is accused of taking thousands of dollars worth of items, such as purses, wallets, checks, power tools, computers and even snow blowers. He will soon be formally charged.

A good amount of the stolen property has been recovered by the Lucas County Sheriff's Office and Waterville Township Police Department. Out of 29 items in the sheriff's office, 22 have been returned to their owner. Waterville Township police have also returned a good portion of recovered property.

Polus is accused of trying to sell the stolen items on Craigslist and was caught when police set up a fake meeting to buy some of his goods.

Former Waterville Township Police Chief Michael Wilkinson worked hard on getting those indictments against Polus and says he is glad the case is coming together.

"It feels good that you put time and effort into something and it comes into fruition the way it should," said Wilkinson.

Polus will be arraigned on the three burglary charges Monday morning.
