Still no leads in hit and run death

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Nearly a week after a man died in a hit and run accident on West Alexis Road, and the Toledo Police Department still has no leads.

Isaac Goff was struck by a car early Thursday morning on March 14. Crews found 43-year-old Goff in the westbound land of Alexis and immediately started CPR. An ambulance rushed him to the hospital with critical injuries, but he did not survive.

Police say the driver took off, and there was very little evidence at the scene. Nearby cameras have not supplied the needed information, so they need the community's help to solve the case.

"When we do investigations, your best evidence is at the time when it happens," said Sgt. Joe Heffernan. "You know, witness statements, victim statements, physical evidence left at the scene…Unfortunately there's just not that type of stuff available for us initially on this case."

Anyone who may have seen a vehicle in that area at that time, or who may know anything about the case, is asked to call the police department, or Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
