After some contemplation about the head coach vacancy at Division I Kennesaw St. Valdosta State football coach David Dean decided Winnersville is just where he wanted to be.
Dean did say that he applied for the Kennesaw State job. The Owls will field a football team for the first time in 2015. Coach Dean is coming off his second Division II National Championship and may have been one of the hottest candidates for the job.
However, after the process began to become more lengthy and spring practices began for the Blazers, Dean decided to take his name out of the hat.
"I'm not a guy that's looking to move on. Alot of times you hear a lot of guys talk about the grass is greener on the other side. To me I'm very happy hear. I think its a great nucleus of recruiting. We have a great base of high school coaches. The state of Georgia has great football players. If something good comes along that I think is a better opportunity then I'll look at it. Right now I haven't seen that," Dean said.
Dean has a 54-17 record as head VSU's head coach.
