Leading Edge with Jerry Anderson – March 10, 2013

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

For the first time in more than 600 years, the College of Cardinals has convened in Rome to elect a new Pope while the last Pope is still living.  Jerry speaks with University of Toledo Endowed Professor of Catholic Studies Dr. Peter Feldmeier about what to expect from the election and the soon to be new pope.

It has been a hot button issue for years: double dipping.  That is, the practice of public employees retiring to collect their pension, only to be immediately rehired in the same position.  Toledo's Chief of Police is poised to do exactly that.  But in Perrysburg Township, the Chief retired and took a more than $25,000 pay cut when he was re-hired at a first year patrolman's salary. So why isn't Toledo's Chief Diggs doing the same? Toledo City Councilman Tom Waniewski sits down with Jerry to explore the topic.

Then Jerry speaks with David Schlaudecker, Executive Director of Leadership Toledo, which works to foster community involvement among leaders and potential leaders, about a fundraiser for the organization.
