TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A rendering has been released to illustrate what Toledo's Fire Station 3 is expected to look like after a renovation and expansion.

The station's floor is damaged, which led to its closure last year. Currently, its vehicles and crew are housed at Fire Station 13 on the east side.

Instead of building a new station, the city has decided to restore and renovate the historic station. The expansion will include two new apparatus bays and a stairwell.

Work is expected to start within the next few months.
